The Fox on the Fairway presented by Keizer Homegrown Theatre
The Fox on the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy members of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced adult comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with...golf.
Come watch the zaniness when rival country club directors Henry Bingham of Quail Valley Country Club, and Dickie Bell of Crouching Squirrel Golf and Racquet Club face off in their annual interclub tournament. After five years of losing the tournament, Bingham has enlisted a sure thing winner in new member Tramplemain, only to discover the morning of the tournament that his conniving and arrogant counterpart Dickie has stolen him for Crouching Squirrel. Unknowingly, Bingham had already placed an extremely large bet with Dickie and is in danger of losing not only his shirt, but his job, and his wife. Enter Justin, his newly hired assistant whose golf game can rival Tramplemain's and suddenly the match and the bet become interesting. Justin, however, is distracted by his new fiancée, Louise, a waitress at the club, and their antics put his golf performance in jeopardy. Can Justin win Bingham the tournament and help them all get their lives back in order? Or is this just one more flustering setback in Bingham's chaos riddled life?
