Eclipse Time Capsule to be buried at Volcanoes Stadium:
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes will be burying a Time Capsule at Volcanoes Stadium to commemorate the recent Eclipse Game on August 21. The event attracted fans from 34 states plus Washington D.C., 11 countries, including Norway, Italy, Japan, South Africa, England, Australia, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Canada (3 Canadian Provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario) and Columbia, South America - 6 continents!
The capsule will be buried on Thursday, September 21, exactly one month after the Volcanoes' 1st Ever Delay of a Professional Sporting Event due to a solar eclipse on August 21, that drew a record 5,297 fans including national media including ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CBS Sports, Inside Edition, NASA...TV and Radio Stations, and Newspapers from as far away as Tampa Bay, FL. etc. .
Fans are invited to submit an item(s)* for inclusion in the time capsule mail to: TIME CAPSULE c/o Volcanoes Baseball PO Box 20936 Keizer, OR 97307. The capsule will be buried to be reopened when the next solar eclipse passes over Volcanoes Stadium in 2169. *sorry, items submitted will not be returned
Media is welcomed to cover the event which will begin at 4:30pm, September 21, at Volcanoes Stadium - on the main stadium concourse behind homeplate. Stadium gates will open at3:30pm for fans and those interested in attending the event.
